Legend has it that the Tortoise banyan tree located in the communal house of Rua village in the area of Rua village (Van Hoa commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi) is estimated to be a thousand years old.
Banyan tree is located on a large field of land, surrounded by solid iron “wall”. Right next to the communal house is Rua village, worshiping Tan Vien Son Thanh, which has been renovated and repaired for a while 
Thu from Nguyen Van Ty (Muong ethnic group, 69 years old) said, no one knows the exact lifespan of the tree, only that the tree appeared from his father’s life. Through many ups and downs of history, the banyan tree still stands firmly, shading the village. 
The Tortoise polygamous tree is currently considered one of the giant and most beautiful in Vietnam. 
The majestic roots with many large roots and dozens of secondary roots loosened from the tops of the trees swooping down, and then reached above the ground like strong turtle claws plunging deep into the ground. 
The trunk has many holes, large, white roots as if it were chalked; Sticking green moss, mandala fern create an extremely captivating ancient beauty for this thousand-year-old tree. 
Also according to the Prime Minister Nguyen Van Ty, Rua communal house used to be a resistance base of Son Tay provincial agencies and was a training ground for cadets led by generals Hoang Thai, Hoang Sam and Phung The Tai. Not only that, but this was also the base of the 66th Deathly Regiment that at that time people often called the famous Ky Con Regiment. 
Through many ups and downs of history, in spite of time, the legendary Tortoise polygamy tree of Turtle hamlet still stands there with root branches shaped like the pedicure legs of Tortoise god, the tops of leaves always retain green , very worthy of being a symbol of the strong vitality of the nation. According to Mr. Ty, it seems that every old tree in existence in Vietnam has its own mysterious stories. Banyan tree has many holes where the flute returns to nest … but when the young people in the village catch the flute, everything is different. In the dark, many unsettled things happened … many of them dreamed of the Tortoise god reprimanding for the return of the flute. So scared, they brought it back, then everything was normal. Once again, a large branch of a tree fell over, and a young man in the village called for a customer to come to a saw to sell. Wood was gathered on the car, about 10m away, the car fell into a ravine along the edge of the village. So scared, the owner of the car had to return the wood and do a ceremony to dare to leave. According to custom, every time people of Rua village, when passing Banyan Tree, they must take their hats off to show their respect to the Banyan God.
