Many people travel to Vung Tau, but surely very few people know the interesting things below!
In the Annam-Latin Autobiography of Ba Da Loc printed in 1772 – 1773, this book says that Vung Tau means “where the ship is parked”. In the nineteenth century, the books Gia Dinh Thanh Thong Chi and Dai Nam Nhat Thong Chi both explained that Vung Tau was the Australian Boat, that is, a sea with many moored boats. Because Ward 6 was officially renamed Thang Nhi Ward in 2015. Previously, when I wanted to go from Ba Ria to Vung Tau, there was only this bend leading to Vung Tau city. In the 80s, the Soviet Union in Azerbaijan signed contracts with Vietnamese oil experts. Therefore, Nguyen Thai Hoc Street at that time became Bacu Street. And in Baku there is also a street named Vungtau. Both cities put it like that out of respect for the oil treaty. Before this area became a famous check-in place, every time visitors came here to play, most would easily see wild pigs blocking the road or running around. There are many interpretations of the name Ho Coc. One of the explanations is that this place used to be surrounded by forest canopies, and the trees that existed were mainly forest toads, so it was called Ho Coc (the word “cup” here is said to be the name of Ho Coc). from reading the word “toad”. Vung Tau has many beautiful beaches, but Bai Sau is the “king” of tourism here. Not only because of the number of hotels, villas for rent and long beaches, the friendliness of the people and the culinary paradise are also the keys to the growth of Bai Sau.
