Mocameta Monastery. Cuisine The people of Imereti are surprisingly hospitable and Imereti’s cuisine is also incredibly delicious. Walnut dishes are very popular here, herbs are also used a lot to prepare food. The traditional Khachapuri cheese cake from the Imereti region is famous throughout Georgia. In addition, one of the popular highlights here is fried chicken dipped in juice from blackberries and unripe grapes called Isrimakvali. The Imereti name is also known in the winemaking industry.
