Miss Vietnam World 2019 thinks that the designers have seen the potential and should choose her in the position of vedette, the first face in the fashion show.
Luong Thuy Linh is currently one of the beloved Miss thanks to her delicate and feminine beauty. After two years of term, she has had a remarkable change in image and orientation of her own development path. Recently, Luong Thuy Linh has appeared in many fashion catwalks as vedette, first face. The name “beauty” is very important – What fate helps Luong Thuy Linh have the opportunity to perform in big fashion shows? – I think the designers see their potential so they have confidence and “choose to send gold.” Besides, in the time of preparing for the show Miss World, I also had the opportunity to learn the catwalk, pose or perform in front of the camera. I think I do quite well as a model in the position of vedette or first face. On stage, I try to show my best in terms of skill and charisma. Inside the backstage, I attentively listened to suggestions from designers, directors and seniors. – Is Linh having difficulty becoming a vedette or the first face of the show? – Each model definitely has its own difficulty. The position of the first face or vedette will be under pressure many times, because they will have to show the most important costumes on the show. Before the show, I usually prepare well by sleeping early, practicing sports to get the best shape in order to honor the clothes the designer gave me. I often refer to the previous brothers and sisters to see how this costume should be posed or performed. 
Luong Thuy Linh appeared as a vedette, a first face on a big fashion catwalk. – Many opinions say that the beauty queen on the catwalk has no experience as professional models, what do you think about this? – I think the designers when inviting beauty come from fame, name and media appeal. I feel that the beauty queen on the catwalk will have closer access to the viewers. The appearance of a beauty queen or a runner also helps the fashion house to communicate its own name. Not all designers can invite a beauty queen or a runner to their show. Vedette or first face are the ones who draw attention to the audience when watching the show. Therefore, the name, position in the profession is what the designer should consider when deciding to choose any position for the collection. – In your opinion, what is the strength of the beauty queen on the runway floor? – I think Miss is the combination of beauty and compassion. What I see in the beauty queen is the charisma. This is seen as an important point to help them easily get the attention of designers or brands. – How does Luong Thuy Linh feel when some people consider beauty as a title, and model as a profession and beauty to step into the fashion industry just to prove herself, have no passion for the profession? – For Linh, modeling is a respectable profession. The model and the beauty queen are two different directions and goals, one cannot put one person’s point of view on another and commented that they are not passionate, not enthusiastic. However, once I accept a job offer, I will do my best, trying to get the best results. – When having the opportunity to work in fashion village, how did Linh improve her skills? In addition to practicing skills, I also regularly follow international fashion shows to research and learn. I watch many genres such as applied fashion, art or Gucci, Chanel … to feel the professionalism and charisma … In particular, I really admire the Victoria’s Secret angels. They are beautiful, charming, and professional. I dreamed of performing at this famous lingerie brand’s show. “Vietnamese audiences like the body to flourish in the right place” – What did Luong Thuy Linh do to deserve the position of vedette or first face? – I realize that performing in a vedette or first face position requires practice and technique. First, I have to pay attention to keeping in shape. The costumes in these positions are very special, sometimes quite boldly cut, can not hide the defects. Therefore, being in good shape is necessary. Next is training on catwalk and performance skills. Each outfit has a different way of walking, the steps must be smooth to the rhythm of the music to create an impression on the collection. Before that, I always ask for the designers’ permission to show drawings and information about the outfit, what message they want to convey, where they are inspired to be able to capture and perform in the best way. – How does Linh practice to keep fit? – I find myself practicing sports a lot. When eating sweets or meat, I always think about how to burn more calories during exercise than calories loaded into the body. Doing so can lose weight and keep in shape. Aside from abs, butt, or thigh exercises, I still prefer cardio for endurance. – Many models have to work hard to lose weight to have a slim body that meets international standards, what about you? – Becoming a model, keeping in shape is natural. However, I don’t think it should be too thin. In Vietnam, the taste is different from the West. Whether a model or a beauty queen, the audience still likes a balanced body, “blooming” in the right place. I really admire the international standard size 0 models. I think this is too strict criteria. I have read a lot about models pursuing a size 0 body so they fall out, get sick, or even give up their lives. It is admirable that they can make such sacrifices for their job. – Are you pressured by your weight? – Weight does not tell too much about whether people are fat or not, because 5 kg of fat will be completely different from 5 kg of muscle. One can see muscular athletes who are sometimes heavier than chubby ones. 
The beauty queen always works hard to practice sports to have a well-proportioned body. – Many models set the biggest goal of becoming a vedette. Luong Thuy Linh has achieved this pretty soon, so what is your next direction? – With fashion, I will continue to try to provide more coverage on the runway floor, giving birth to unique photo sets. Becoming a vedette doesn’t mean a single act is done. The “big sisters” in the fashion industry such as Thanh Hang, Vo Hoang Yen also hold the vedette position for many years, but each appearance creates attraction and affirms their class. On any road, it will be the same, if we do not go forward, it will be easy to fall back. Every year there are a few beautiful beauty, supermodels, I do not try to be sure to be forgotten quickly. – What goals does Linh set for himself when turning to the fashion industry? – I do not really turn to fashion, but I will still do well the duties of the beauty queen, the project development director as today. However, I have put a lot of love and passion into fashion, so I also have a certain goal for myself. I want to build my own position in the fashion village, not just being a beauty queen for fun, but really being recognized.
