The big screen and big lens are what attracts me the most about Mi 11 Ultra. A mobile phone always has some gimmicks, otherwise I don’t know what to say when I introduce it to others. And the huge rear lens design of Ultra is enough to become a hot topic for everyone to discuss.
The reason why it is so big is because Xiaomi has inserted the largest GN2 image sensor in the current mobile phone industry into the Ultra’s body. It is said that the bottom level is crushing people. At least in terms of area, Ultra’s image sensor is already unmatched. . The big bottom can capture more light, easily take brighter and clearer photos, and GN2 also has stronger focusing ability and night scene ability, of course 8K video is also supported. The three lenses are just right, at least in terms of composition, they are all lenses with strong practical value. Xiaomi also emphasized that these three lenses are all main camera-level lenses, thus ensuring stable image quality at different focal lengths.
The outsole, the large lens, and a small screen form the entire Ultra back lens module, which is recognizable in appearance. With a white ceramic body, it has both texture and beauty. Of course, different people have different opinions on appearance, and everyone has different aesthetics.
At the first glance of opening the camera, the picture in the preview box is basically the same as the picture seen by the human eye, but the color is slightly faint; the arrangement of various function buttons is clear, the upper part is the auxiliary function setting, and the lower part is the camera mode selection. Compared with the iPhone, the camera of Android phones will have many interesting functions built-in, such as beauty, movie mode, macro mode, tilt-shift shooting, etc. You can manually choose to turn off and on. Although it is a little complicated, it is also enhanced. Playability.
I pressed the shutter and took a few photos. The sudden delay caught me off guard. Obviously, the shutter has been pressed, but the camera hasn’t responded for a long time. I really like the appearance of the 11 Ultra, especially the rear lens module design. Although the bulge is strong, it is also recognizable because of this. This is the 11 Ultra, and there is no doubt that it will not be mistaken.Of course, more people hate this design. On the one hand, it is visually uncoordinated. On the other hand, there are some inconveniences due to such a strong bulge. For example, there will be nowhere to put the hands close to the lens module when playing games.
As for the weight, it is very heavy, but it doesn’t make me feel top-heavy, and the bulge of the lens module is just enough to let the fingers rest on the phone. It feels safe when standing on the subway and playing with the phone. The look and feel of the ceramic back cover is completely different from that of glass. It is gentle and delicate, just like holding an ex-girlfriend’s hand.
All the buttons are integrated on the right side of the fuselage, which is quite convenient to use, but the size of such a large fuselage is definitely more difficult for girls to hold. The upper and lower frame design is very simple, and the dual-speaker sound quality is good, much better than the iPhone 12 Pro used before. Infrared transmitter is a function that iPhone will never experience. It is very convenient to control the air conditioner and TV daily.
The screen is amazing
Don’t forget the slogan of Xiaomi Mi 11-a good screen. This one-billion-color four-curved screen is one of the top-level screens that deserves it, not to mention that it also supports 2K+120Hz simultaneous opening. The screen display itself is a very subjective thing. Everyone has different preferences and tendencies, but this Xiaomi screen is one of the few screens that made me amazed at first sight, even better than this year’s OPPO and OnePlus’s screens. All amazed me.
The screen display of Android phones often has a variety of color styles. I prefer the primary color mode of the 11 Ultra, which is the most natural display mode that restores the original color of the content. At the same time, 2K and 120Hz must be turned on, which brings silky high-definition enjoyment. I must also praise that Ultra’s automatic brightness function really makes me very satisfied, almost as smart and reliable as the iPhone.
Of course, there are some regrets. The 11 Ultra does not support the original color display function similar to the iPhone, and the 120Hz high brush does not achieve global coverage like the Samsung S21 series. The curved screen still cannot avoid accidental touch, and the edge return is sometimes not so sensitive.
On the back of the screen, I have not explored any practical application points, because I did not put a film on the phone screen, so I would not choose to buckle the phone on the desktop, so I can’t see the content on this small window.
Battery life and heat
The originally highly anticipated Snapdragon 888 can only be reminiscent of heat and high power consumption. Although it is not called a fire dragon, under many heavy load scenarios, the continuous performance output of 888 is indeed less stable than that of 865. What’s more disturbing than fever is battery life. Regardless of the large 5000mAh battery of 11 Ultra, it feels no different from Android 4000mAh mobile phones in daily use. The most exaggerated thing happened on the first working day after I got the phone. 40% of the electricity was consumed on the subway, and I only stayed on the subway for less than 40 minutes.
In addition to the 2K+120Hz high-speed brush, 5G is also a typical power-hungry consumer, so I generally turn off the 5G network, and the battery life will be improved significantly. The problem of large power consumption has been improved to a certain extent in the update of version 12.10. The actual use time can be extended by about 1 hour, which also reflects that the road to system optimization of 11 Ultra is still very long.
MIUI
Good hardware must have good software to play its full strength. Obviously, 11 Ultra and MIUI do not cooperate well.
Frame dropping, power consumption, heat generation, and system bugs such as screen cuts and dislocations and application crashes are not rare. Of course, I believe that Xiaomi will solve these problems, and pay attention to the stability of the system while adding new functions.
In addition, I still have to complain about the proliferation of MIUI advertisements. I have not used MIUI for many years. I can’t accept that there are so many advertisements on my mobile phone. It is refreshing and clean by turning off one by one according to the operation guide given by cool friends.
The system localization and convenience functions are very rich. The more important thing is that the notification function of MIUI makes me feel that it is almost the same as the iPhone experience. I can receive the notifications I want to receive, which is very reliable~

In my opinion, the 11 Ultra is not a regular digital flagship. It has a bold design and powerful hardware configuration. Even if it is a little exaggerated, it has enough qualifications. Reliable, just like the 11 Ultra camera, the shutter response delay problem still exists after several system updates. At present, it seems that I will continue to use 11 Ultra for a period of time.
