Nguom Ngao Cave is located in the heart of a mountain in Gum village, Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, more than 90km from Cao Bang city and 5km from Ban Gioc waterfall.
Nguom Ngao cave in Tay language means “Horse cave” was discovered in 1921, put into tourist operation in 1996 and recognized as a national scenic spot in 1998.

According to scientific researchers, this cave is a limestone cave formed about 400 million years ago today, with a total length of 2,144m and has 3 main gates: Nguom Ngao, Nguom Lom, and Ban Thuon; The temperature in the cave is very cool in the summer, but warm in the winter.
