It is expected that in mid or late June 2021, the group will complete IoT-integrated automatic body temperature and hand washing machines and put them into use at the school’s entrances.
The first-year students of the BK MCE group of the University of Science and Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) have successfully built an IoT-integrated automatic body temperature meter and hand washing machine to serve the prevention of the COVID-19 epidemic. 19.

The group consists of eight first-year students: Chu Minh Nhan, Cao Khanh Gia Hy, Nguyen The Binh, Ho Huynh Gia Bao, Tran Duy Khang, Nguyen Duy, Ngo Ha Gia Bao and Mai Hoang Kim Son. The group made the fabrication under the guidance of three lecturers, Prof. Dr. Quan Thanh Tho (Deputy Dean of Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering), Dr. Le Thanh Long (lecturer of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and Dr. Vo Thanh Hang (Deputy Head of Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering). lecturer in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources). A group of students worked hard together to make a thermometer Dr. Vo Thanh Hang (female), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quan Thanh Tho (shirt) and a group of students next to an automatic body temperature measuring device. It is expected that in the middle or the end of June 2021, the group will complete the apparatus and put it into use at the school’s entrances. Compared with other machines on the market, the advantage of IoT-integrated automatic body temperature and hand washing machine is that it is programmed with IoT to recognize faces (check student IDs and faces) to remind you to wear a mask. voice. The device will automatically measure the body temperature and warn when the body temperature exceeds the normal range. Update data on user information and temperature of use, record information, when the user is using the machine… The machine also supports automatic hand washing with a sufficient amount of antiseptic solution. In particular, the data (temperature measurement results, entrance time, facial recognition images) will be stored and transmitted to the central server. Medical staff will easily access and retrieve data for control and tracing of suspected COVID-19 cases. Dr. Thanh Hang, instructor, said that the thermometer is a product developed by a community project and entered the top 10 of the soft skills class of the school’s international training program. After that, students continued to research and develop machine manufacturing, combined with smart internet usage features, to improve usage efficiency. According to Dr. Thanh Hang, the group has now registered a student scientific research project (start-up program) and manufactured according to the university’s order to use in the prevention of COVID-19 at the University of Science and Technology.
