Standing in front of the Reclining Buddha Temple overlooking the Guanzhong Plain

After seeing the ten thousand mu of white cuckoo plum blossom sea in Huangyusi Village, Qinling, we decided to cross the Reclining Buddha Temple, and then go down the mountain via Jingye Temple to complete a day trip across the Qinling Mountains. The road from Huangyusi Village to the Reclining Buddha Temple is not difficult to walk, the whole walk along the ridge path, there is no significant elevation, and the physical strength is not great. One hour later, he arrived at the location of Wat Pho. I have heard the name “Reclining Buddha Temple” long ago because it is too famous in the circle of Xi’an travel friends. It is an important landmark of the Qinling classic trekking route “Three Temples” (Jingye Temple, Reclining Buddha Temple, Huangyu Temple) one. When we arrived at Wat Pho, it was almost 4:30 in the afternoon. My friend and I hesitated whether or not to go to Wat Pho. After all, we still want to get out of the mountain before dark, and the route from Reclining Buddha Temple to Jingye Temple is the first time we walked. I don’t know what the road conditions are. After hesitating, I turned my head and saw the Reclining Buddha Temple hovering on the top of the Qinling Mountains, between which a five-story building stood proudly, its magnificence is staggering. Immediately reached an agreement with a friend: go! Go up and have a look! ps. For the specific strategy of the white cuckoo plum blossom sea in Huangyusi Village, you can read my last travel note:Beautiful!Xi’an’s Qinling Baijuan plum resembles a “sea of snow”, and you can drive straight to the top of the mountain. It’s just right to go now The location of the Reclining Buddha Temple is on the top of Qinghua Mountain, above Daiding, which is about 1,300 meters above sea level. The Wat Pho was built at the end of the Sui Dynasty and the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, with a history of more than 1,300 years. The most famous cultural relic of the ancient temple and the source of its name is a Reclining Buddha with a length of 11.6 meters and a height of 3 meters. It is also one of the “Four Large Stone Buddhas in the Interior”. It was not until we entered the ancient temple that we found that the location of the Wat Pho was extremely precarious. The entire temple was built on a large granite roof, and built on the mountain. According to the terrain, the mountain gate, the Jade Emperor Building, the east and west halls, and the apse were built. The area between each courtyard is small, and the two sides of the hall are small. It is a cliff. The core building is the five-story building we see from below. This building is attached to the cliff, somewhat similar to the feeling of a cave temple. Each floor is enshrined with different Buddha statues, and the ground is paved with wooden boards. The bottom layer is the grotto of the Tathagata Reclining Buddha, which is also the treasure of the temple of the Reclining Buddha. This Tathagata reclining Buddha is 11.6 meters long and 2.3 meters wide. The Buddha’s head is facing east and the feet are facing west, lying in a four-square grotto. Its right arm is bent back, and the palm is stretched out under the head. The sculpture is very exquisite. From the outside, the reclining Buddha seems to be composed of four parts: the head of the Buddha, the breast, the belly, and the legs of the Buddha. In fact, looking through the gaps in the grotto, you will find that it is a whole, completely carved on a rock wall. However, there is no historical record of when this stone Buddha was carved, and how the ancients took so much time to carve such a giant Buddha on the top of Qinghua Mountain at an altitude of 1,300 meters in the Qinling Mountains. This has also become an unsolved mystery of the Qinghua Mountain Reclining Buddha Temple. After visiting the Reclining Buddha Grottoes, follow a path between the cliffs to go directly back to the Shanmen Temple. Looking back at the five-story building, I found that there was a white bark pine on the cliff facing each other. Later, when I asked the old man in the temple, I was told that this white pine tree was more than 1,000 years old. The ancient tree with the reclining Buddha, probably only it knows the “secret” of this Tathagata reclining Buddha! Finally, I will talk about some useful travel information, friends who want to come can refer to: The Reclining Buddha Temple is located on the top of the Qinghua Mountain in Xi’an. You need to purchase a 10 yuan incense ticket to enter the temple. The Reclining Buddha Temple is connected to many classic crossing routes in the Qinling Mountains, so we did not purchase the scenic spot tickets when we passed through the Reclining Buddha Temple. If you go up from Qinghua Mountain, you need to buy Qinghua Mountain 20 yuan ticket.
