Miss Khanh Van’s national costume brings the story from silkworms to Vietnamese shirts, highlighting the Vietnamese people’s diligence and patience despite the ups and downs of the times.
Miss Khanh Van has just introduced the national costume named Coc Em before officially departing for the 69th Miss Universe pageant in the US. According to her, the silk weaving profession has gone deep into the minds of Vietnamese people, containing and crystallizing multidimensional values from culture, art to economy.

(Source: FBNV) Therefore, Coc Em brings the story from silkworm to Vietnamese clothing, highlighting the virtuous and patient spirit of the Vietnamese people despite the ups and downs of the times. The costume has a transformative effect on the stage, applying 100% meticulous hand-knitting technique from the cocoon, the knuckle to the ao dai. The inside of the cocoon describes the bustling silk weaving profession, through reeling and pure white silk rolls. The ao dai is silky and smooth, it is the result of a lot of effort and enthusiasm, carrying the message of continuity and development of a Vietnamese craft village story. Coc Em will work with Miss Khanh Van in the National Costume contest, which takes place on May 13 (US time). This is the costume that won the contest “Selection of national costume design,” conceptualized by designer Khoa Lo and implemented with designer Tin Thai. With the meaning of honoring the silk weaving profession of Vietnam, Coc Em was researched by the author using lightweight, flying materials, combining foreign marcame rope techniques. The main white tone on the base of Ao Dai helps Khanh Van not only take flexible steps, but also skillfully express the grace and elegance of traditional Vietnamese women.

It is known that on May 2, Khanh Van will officially go to the US to fight Miss Universe (the final on May 16, in US time).
