If in the past, planting trees was an elegant hobby of the elderly, but now, many young people love to grow indoor plants and decorate bonsai on their desks. The tree is also a meaningful gift you want to give each other. On many forums to guide bonsai care, young people excitedly exchange and share their hobby of growing plants.
From the wonderful nature exploration trips of a presenter, Duong Thi Tuyet Vinh began to have a hobby of planting trees and creating green areas for her house. 3 years ago, when buying a 96m² apartment in Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City, Tuyet Vinh started decorating with trees for living space. The rooms with 4 rough walls were gradually filled by Tuyet Vinh with more than 80 pots of all kinds of plants. She likens her apartment to a “forest in a box”. “Initially, I spent a lot of money buying plants because they did not adapt to the environment in the room. There are some trees because I watered a lot, so their roots were waterlogged and they died,” said MC 8X. After that, Tuyet Vinh spent time going to the store selling ornamental plants to learn, buy more books and research online techniques for growing indoor plants. Now, having accumulated quite a bit of experience, just by seeing the tree, Tuyet Vinh knows if it can live in a windless environment or not.

At first, the single girl considered trees as decorations, but through the process of living together and taking care of them, they became friends that Vinh loved. Her favorite is betel nut Happiness, also known as Peruvian betel nut. “I like this tree because my name is Happiness. That’s what I feel when I’m with her, and I also want other children to be happy when living with me”, the female MC confided. Although he lives in a boarding house, Mr. Tong Cong Tuan also has the pleasure of bringing trees into the house. He cleverly arranged the green plants under the stairs, on the window or the railing of the mezzanine, “turning” the stuffy 18m² motel room into a space filled with green. In addition to cacti and ornamental plants, Cong Tuan also grows ivy and betel nut. To save costs, Cong Tuan is researching how to self-extracting branches to greenen the motel room. Not only Tuyet Vinh and Cong Tuan, but in recent years, the trend of planting trees and decorating living spaces with green trees is being loved by many young people. Dinh Hang (District 8) said: “Every birthday, the agency gives employees a pot of plants. I like this gift very much because it has a long “lifetime”. Just learn how to take care of the tree, and you can keep the gift for a long time.” With an inexpensive price as well as a variety of types, gifts from trees have become the best-selling items in bonsai stores today. Ms. Ngoc Linh, owner of a bonsai shop on Nguyen Huu Canh Street, Binh Thanh District, shared: “Every Valentine’s Day, March 8, I sell more than 100 potted plants of all kinds. Young people often choose plants such as cactus, fortune-teller, honeysuckle, tiger tongue, etc., and then ask me to coordinate to create a small landscape.” Predestined from an original potted plant, Tuyet Vinh began to multiply the number by dozens of times so that the living space was filled with green. “During the days of staying at home to prevent disease, the feeling of living in your own forest is great. Just opened my eyes and woke up, seeing that my house was cool, how much positive energy came again. If you guys love green plants, you can create green patches in your house like me, “said the female MC. According to some studies, indoor plants help clean the air, remove harmful chemicals, improve memory and reduce stress.
