After nearly ten years of growing onions, he found that in the first year, the prices of onions fell so badly. “A few years ago, people bought a lot, but this year, traders in the province and in the South refused because onions in them are also down in price and difficult to consume. If onions are left unsold for a long time, it will easily perish,” said Tran Thi Thu, an onion-growing householder in Nghi Lam commune, lamented. The traders explained that, in the main season, the season for sale, termites in the provinces stopped buying, so they did not dare to “eat goods”, leading to a plunge in prices. Information from Nghi Lam commune shows that the whole commune has about 1,500 households growing onions, with an area of nearly 103ha. One sao of onions can reach 5-6 quintals. Accordingly, the price of onion drops is only 13,000 VND / kg. At this price, people will inevitably suffer losses. Not to mention, although the price of onions is low, there are no traders to buy, the amount of backlog is hundreds of tons.
