In the first years of participating in Miss Universe, the national costume of the Vietnamese representative is usually a simple ao dai design.

Vietnam started to have a representative for Miss Universe (Miss Universe) since 2008. A year later, Vo Hoang Yen followed Thuy Lam’s footsteps to “fight”.
