On the morning of May 14 (at 7:00 am), Miss Khanh Van will enter the performance contest “National costume” with the national costume “Ken Em” by designer Khoa Lo. She is extremely excited and ready for this part of the competition.

Because this is an opportunity for beauties from all over the world to promote national culture through meaningful and colorful national costumes. Representative of Vietnam – Miss Khanh Van will perform a national costume named Ken Em by designer Khoa Lo.
Miss Khanh Van. With the meaning of honoring Vietnam’s silk weaving, “Ken Em” is researched by the author using light, flying materials, combined with foreign marcame tying techniques. The dominant white tone on the form of ao dai helps Khanh Van not only have flexible steps, but also skillfully show the grace and elegance of the traditional Vietnamese woman. 
After discussing, discussing and agreeing, designer Khoa Lo, Miss Khanh Van and the crew decided to change a bit in the Ken frame, making it easier for Khanh Van to move and reduce the weight on her shoulders. The Ken Em national costume was also performed for the first time by Miss Khanh Van at the Send Off event on April 27 – before leaving for the US. In the “National Costume” contest, Vietnam has repeatedly impressed international friends with many unique and creative national costumes such as: “Nang May” (Le Hang – Miss Universe 2016), “Vietnamese soul” (Nguyen Thi Loan – Miss Universe 2017), “Banh Mi” (H’Hen Niê – Miss Universe 2018), “Café phin with milk ice” (Hoang Thuy – Miss Universe 2019). Therefore, the audience is very much looking forward to the performance of Miss Khanh Van with the Ken Em outfit, especially after many years of bringing innovative designs, Vietnam returns to the form of ao dai with variations attached to the dress. meaning to honor the traditional craft village.

The semi-final will take place on the morning of May 15 at 6 o’clock, the audience can watch it on the Youtube channel of Miss Universe, the final takes place on the morning of May 17 at 7:00, the audience can watch it on the Foxlife channel. Miss Universe 69th will take place in the US from May 6 to 16, 2021 (US time).
