According to previous reports, on the evening of March 29, 13-year-old boy Adam Toledo was shot and killed by the policeman Eric Stillman who was pursuing him. Toledo and another accomplice were chased by the police for allegedly shooting a vehicle on the street. This incident triggered protests and demonstrations from local residents.
According to screenshots of the law enforcement video of the policeman who opened the gun, Eric Stillman, Toledo raised his hands before the police opened the shooting, without holding anything in his hands. Attorneys for many people in Toledo said that the video has “sayed it all.”
During the hunt, the police repeatedly shouted words such as “stop” and “let me see your hand”. When the teenager turned around and raised his hand, the police shouted “put down the gun” and shot him. .
The screen also showed that after Toledo fell, the police flashlight could see a pistol on the fence behind Toledo.

Chicago Mayor Lightford and Toledo’s lawyers jointly issued a statement before the video was released, hoping that the public would remain calm, “The release of this video will cause a lot of pain and may cause emotional reactions from viewers. We request everyone. Express views peacefully”.
Lightfoot held an emergency briefing with community representatives at noon on the 15th. She also publicly stated that “we live in a city with a history of police violence and long-term misconduct”, so she can understand the anger and pain of the people.
