Tottenham aim to replace Jose Mourinho this summer after the team’s poor performance. Here are 6 potential candidates to replace the Portuguese strategist.

Mourinho is facing growing pressure at Tottenham. After losing to Man United last weekend, Spurs are now 6th on the rankings, 6 points behind the Champions League, 3 points behind the Europa League.

Spurs can still win tickets to the European Cup if they win the League Cup. But even then, they can only attend the UEFA Europa Conference League, the newly established European 3rd class arena and are expected to go into practice next year.

That may have been Spurs’ first title since 2008 but not enough to erase a failed season for the team if they fail to attend the major European arenas next season.

Chairman Daniel Levy is expected to find a new coach to replace Mourinho. Here are six potential candidates.

1. Nuno Santo

Santo is the top candidate to replace Mourinho at Tottenham

Former coach Valencia and Porto are having an unsuccessful season when Wolves are unlucky with injuries. Currently, this team is ranked 12th on the rankings, without having to worry about relegation but also no longer have the opportunity to attend the European Cup. However, Wolves’ successes in recent years are enough to prove Santo’s capabilities. Moreover, President Levy also admires the 47-year-old coach.

In January, there were rumors that Nuno Santo asked agent Jorge Mendes, who is also Mourinho’s agent, to help him find another club. And in case Mourinho is sacked by Spurs, Nuno Santo can dock Spurs.

2. Julian Nagelsmann

Nagelsmann is currently the coach of Leipzig. He is the youngest coach to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League with this feat last season. This season, Leipzig was eliminated by Liverpool from the eighth round but is still competing fiercely with Bayern in the Bundesliga arena.

Nagelsmann is one of the top coaches in Europe. He was linked to several Premier League football teams, including Chelsea before Tuchel was appointed. The play that the 33-year-old leader offers is enough to attract Levy if the Tottenham president decides to fire Mourinho.

3. Brendan Rodgers

Rodgers is flying high with Leicester in the Premier League, despite having limited financial potential, Tottenham’s BLD is in desperate need of this. Chairman Levy has reportedly wanted to appoint Rodgers in the past when he fired Redknapp in 2012.

Former Liverpool coach is considered one of the best strategists in the Premier League. He also did good jobs at Liverpool and Celtic before. And the challenge of making Tottenham a force is enough to attract the Northern Irish strategist.

4. Ralph Hasenhuttl

Hasenhuttl is currently coach Southampton. He used to help this team fly high earlier in the season but has been in decline recently. He is said to have many similarities with Pochettino, Mourinho’s predecessor was very successful at Tottenham.

The Austrian strategist is considered by experts to be one of the most talented coaches in the Premier League. Captain Southampton has a pretty special nickname “Jurgen Klopp of the Alps”.

5. Max Allegri

Allegri won 6 Serie A championships with AC Milan and Juventus. In an interview last year, he expressed interest in wanting to work in the UK and revealed that he is working hard to learn English.

Since then, there have been rumors that Allegri will accept a job at Man United, Chelsea and many other teams. Recruiting Allegri would be a successful deal for Daniel Levy.

6. Rafael Benitez

Benitez just broke up with the Chinese team in February and is looking for a job in England. Benitez’s only problem is that his football philosophy is somewhat pragmatic, promoting discipline that goes against Levy’s attacking direction.

He has brought Champions League titles, FA Cup and European Super Cup for Liverpool, Europa League titles for Chelsea and won many major trophies with Inter Milan, Valencia and Napoli. Most recently, Benitez helped Newcastle return to the Premier League. Benitez left Chinese football team Dalian Pro in January and will be open to the opportunity to return to work in the Premier League once again.
