On the afternoon of May 9, along the West Lake, hundreds of people flocked to take pictures of the sunset, despite the spreading Covid-19 situation.

Thanh Nien Street (Tay Ho District, Hanoi) is one of the spots along the West Lake with a lot of people flocking to watch the sunset, on the afternoon of May 9. At this time, the weather is very beautiful, the sun is golden like honey, the air is cool, the temperature is only from 27 to 28 degrees Celsius. Every time the weather is so favorable, West Lake is the destination of many people in the capital. The time when the sun disappeared was 18:15, but nearly an hour before, the beautiful locations here were full. In the meantime, many couples give each other affection. People wear masks, people take off temporarily to take pictures. Some people think that in a crowded place like this, if you only need to leave your face for a few minutes, the risk of spreading the disease can still happen. Pham Thi Ngoc Mai and Tran Thi Thuy, final year students at Hanoi National University of Education, often invite each other to the West Lake to play, especially on weekend afternoons. Because there is only one angle to capture the model’s sun-kissed hand, the photography team Tu Moc jostled in a straight line to compose. Tu said that he often composes landscapes. As for his friends, there are photographers who practice services, taking advantage of the Covid-19 epidemic days to come here to take pictures. A girl while riding an exercise bike in the afternoon also poses for a photo and still wears a mask. Many people sat around waiting for the sun to be as red as an egg before starting to take pictures. Nguyen Thi Tam and Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung said they enjoyed taking pictures even though they only had phones to compose. Thuy Dung shared the beautiful weather without going out to play is a waste. The two girls struggled to take pictures with their phones in many ways but still couldn’t balance the brightness of their faces and the golden glow of the sunset. Then, they had to go back to take pictures. On Thanh Nien Street, many passersby saw the beautiful scenery and stopped to take pictures. The seller said: “Weekend afternoons are the most crowded because students and working people have the day off”. Tran Quang Khai took his wife and children to watch the sunset. Because he ran out of space for motorbikes, he took off his helmet and the whole family sat on the car on the sidewalk to take advantage of video recording. He said that his house is only a few hundred meters away, although he has witnessed the beautiful scenery on the West Lake many times, he has always been interested in composing. A section of Thanh Nien road was congested because many motorbikes parked on the roadside holding up their phones to take pictures. Couples freely act out love scenes with golden scenes as the sun gradually disappears. Oanh and Diem still adhered to wearing masks while taking a picture of raising their hands to catch the sun before the moment the “egg” dropped from the horizon.
