On the 125th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Ho Tung Mau, the typical senior leader of the Vietnamese Party and revolution (June 15, 1896 – June 15, 2021), on the afternoon of June 15, in Hanoi, The Ho Chi Minh Institute and the leaders of the Party (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) held a scientific seminar “Comrade Ho Tung Mau – A loyal communist soldier, a pure moral example”.

Speaking to lead the discussion, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Loi said that Comrade Ho Tung Mau was born on June 15, 1896, in Quynh Doi village, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, his birth name was Ho. Ba Cu. With great will and patriotism, in 1920, he left his hometown to work abroad, named Ho Tung Mau and became the official name until his death. In 1923, comrade Ho Tung Mau founded Tam Tam commune, gathering enthusiastic young people with the same direction, sacrificing personal interests, and plotting together to liberate the nation. In November 1924, the Tam Tam commune group was helped by Nguyen Ai Quoc to redirect its activities, build a revolutionary organization in the right direction, and comrade Ho Tung Mau became his effective and reliable partner. He actively participated in the establishment of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association, making important contributions to the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the spring of 1930. In June 1931, he was arrested by secret agents in Shanghai, sentenced to life in prison. In March 1945, when the Japanese coup d’etat France, Ho Tung Mau escaped from prison and continued to do revolution, participating in the General uprising to seize power in 1945. After the success of the August Revolution, comrade Ho Tung Mau was The Party and State assign many responsibilities. On July 23, 1951, on the way to work, comrade died due to being bombed by French planes. For 31 years of revolutionary activities, of which 14 years in imperial prisons, comrade Ho Tung Mau has clearly demonstrated that he is a communist senior, loyal, truly immersed in the masses, devoted his life to the Fatherland. country, for the people. Expressing his views on the example of Ho Tung Mau, a loyal and indomitable communist in imperial prisons, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Truong, former director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute and leaders of the Party, said that In his life of glorious but dangerous revolutionary activities, comrade Ho Tung Mau was repeatedly arrested and imprisoned in the imperial colonial prison. In 1927, he was first arrested by the Chiang Kai-shek government and then detained three times; in 1931 he was arrested and deported; was sentenced to death by a French court twice, then reduced to life hard labor. But prison did not stop the revolution; the manipulation and bribing of factions did not deviate from the revolutionary path; No matter how difficult the circumstances, comrade Ho Tung Mau did not change his chosen goal and path of struggle.
