The list of 9 diplomats nominated for the position of ambassadors has just been announced by US President Joe Biden.
Deputy Secretary of State in charge of Japan and Korea Marc Evans Knapper is the name proposed to be the US Ambassador to Vietnam.

Mr. Knapper is currently the deputy foreign minister in charge of Japan and Korea at the East Asia and Pacific Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since September 2018.
