Her paintings are unique and have been exhibited many times at home and abroad. Pan Su was born in a scholarly family in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province in 1915. She has practiced painting, poetry, pipa, etc. since she was a child, and demonstrated her extraordinary artistic talent.

At the age of 20, she married Zhang Boju. With the help of her husband Zhang Boju, Pan Su formally learned painting at the age of 21. He first studied flower making from Zhu Deqing, and later collaborated with old painters Tao Xinru, Qi Jingxi, and Zhang Mengjia.
