One river, two dams, three gorges, Ba Feng Chu Yun Yichang beautiful. Zigui was the first stop on the trip to Yichang, and it was also the beginning of my acquaintance with Yichang. “Qu Yuan Yuan, a virtuous sister, Wen Yuan exiled, and Yi Lai returned, because the name is “Sister Return”. Today, Zigui, Yichang, Hubei, is the hometown of Qu Yuan. “Zi” evolved from “sister”. Zigui is a beautiful place, not only with beautiful scenery, but also rich in materials. It has the reputation of “China’s most beautiful location”, “Chinese dragon boat hometown”, “Chinese poetry hometown” and so on. As the hometown of the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan, Zigui is also one of the birthplaces of Chu culture. It is located at the foot of Wo Niu Mountain on the north bank of the Yangtze River, on both banks of the Xiling Gorge of the Yangtze River, and the head of the Three Gorges Project dam. It borders Yiling District to the east, Changyang Tujia Autonomous County to the south, Badong County to the west, and Xingshan County to the north. It is a paradise with undulating hills and crisscross river valleys. The mountains in Zigui County face each other, with unlimited scenery and profound history and culture. The cultural celebrity Qu Yuan was born here, the ancient beauty Zhaojun came out from here, and the world dragon boat movement also originated here. In the city tourism alone, there are classic landscapes such as Quyuan’s hometown cultural tourism area, Muyu Island, and the Three Gorges Dam. Quyuan’s Hometown Cultural Tourism Zone is located in Phoenix Mountain in the county. The cultural content focuses on Quyuan Temple and Quyuan Cloth Tomb. It is mainly represented by Xintan ancient dwellings, Xiajiang Stone Carvings, and Xiajiang Ancient Bridge. It is now a national 5A-level tourist attraction. At the same time, you can also visit and learn about Dragon Boat Festival culture, Quyuan culture, Xiajiang culture and immigration culture in the park. This is a trip to Yichang Zigui, one of the must-see attractions to get to know Zigui. It is worth mentioning that Quyuan’s Hometown Cultural Tourism Zone is also across the river from the Three Gorges Dam. The straight-line distance is only 600 meters. You can enjoy the panoramic view of the Three Gorges Dam and the beautiful scenery of Gaoxia Pinghu up close in the scenic area. Among them, Quyuan Temple is the core of the scenic spot. It was built in the fifteenth year of Tang Yuanhe and the original site was Quyuantuo, 5 miles east of Guizhou. In the third year of Song Yuanfeng, Zhao Xu, the god of the Song Dynasty, named Qu Yuan as “Duke Qing Lie”, also known as “Duke Qing Lie”. However, due to the construction of the Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project and the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, the Qingliegong Temple was relocated twice. The first time it was moved to Xiangjiaping, 3 miles east of Guizhou city, and the second time it was relocated to Fenghuang Mountain, Zigui County. It is the Quyuan Temple that you see today, and it is in harmony with Zhangfei Temple, Baiheliang and Shibaozhai in Chongqing. Together, they have become four separate projects for the relocation and reconstruction of cultural relics in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. Qu Yuan Temple sits west facing east, with a symmetrical layout on the central axis, which contrasts with the Three Gorges Dam. Locals say that Qu Yuan can watch the grandeur of the Three Gorges Dam without going out of his home. The Three Gorges Dam is the world’s largest hydroelectric power generation project and one of the 30 best new tourist attractions in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. The Three Gorges Dam in Zigui County is a secondary Three Gorges dam. The dam crest elevation is 185 meters, the maximum dam height is 104 meters, and the total length of the anti-seepage axis is 1,840 meters. It was specially constructed to protect the thousands of mu of fertile fields in the Maopingxi drainage basin in Zigui County from being flooded by the Three Gorges Reservoir. Since the secondary dam is a military management zone, it is not open to the outside world and can only be overlooked. If you want to watch it from a close distance (600 meters in a straight line), Qu Yuan’s Hometown Cultural Tourism Zone is the best place to watch it (Aerial photography is prohibited without filing and without permission). As I walked along the high stone steps to enter the Quyuan Temple, the gate of Quyuan Temple in front of me reminded me of the Yuji Xing Palace in Wuhan Qingchuan Pavilion. At first glance, its appearance is very similar. The gate of Quyuan Temple is a three-story double-eave Xieshan roof. The front facade is pasted with six-pillar archway gates. The two sides are supplemented by circular wind volcanic walls. The main color is red pillars and white walls and gray tops. The walls are still muddy. Patterns molded out of ash, etc. The overall color and structure are very vivid. Entering the mountain gate, the ancient Chu culture breathed over, and could not help but recall the beauty of “Li Sao” and the wonder of “Heavenly Questions”. It is composed of stele corridor, front hall, music and dance building, main hall, Xiangtang, Qu Yuan tomb and other buildings. Under aerial photography (reported in advance), the thousand-year-old ancient building and the modern building are in sharp contrast and fusion in Phoenix Mountain. No matter how far away the time is, it will not erase the traces of history. Even after a thousand years have passed, the sparks of human spiritual thinking still flicker and flicker. The existence of Qu Yuan Temple is a heritage. In addition, the ancient dwellings of the Xiajiang River in the park are another kind of imagination. The profound and long-lasting Xiajiang culture is not only in Zigui, Hubei, but the Xiajiang culture in Chongqing is also very strong. However, due to the difference in geographical location and living customs, the Xiajiang culture in Yichang has a different style. “The gorge is open to the sun, the mountains are flat and the water is wide, and the city is floating.” Yichang’s beauty, beauty, and magnificence… Only in Zigui, you can see one or two. Many excellent Chinese traditional cultures are also a microcosm of Xiajiang ancient dwellings. The Xiajiang ancient dwellings were originally located in Xintan. When a ground cultural relics relocation and reconstruction protection site was established in the cultural tourism area of Quyuan’s hometown, more than 10 of the Three Gorges Qingtan ancient dwellings were rebuilt in accordance with the principles of original relocation, original restoration, and old restoration. . Now it has successively become the Dragon Boat Festival Folk Museum, Qingtan Customs Museum, Dragon Boat Museum, etc., so that the traditional architecture and folk cultural elements unique to the Xiajiang River are protected and inherited. If the Dragon Boat Festival comes here, the Dragon Boat Festival culture in the park will be stronger and more exciting than usual. The Dragon Boat Festival ceremony held in front of Quyuan Temple embodies the inheritance of Quyuan’s culture, as well as the nostalgia and contemplation of the ancients by modern people.
