It didn’t take too much time to come up with ideas, 46 students in class 12A10, Luc Ngan No. 1 High School (Bac Giang) all agreed to take a yearbook that blends Vietnamese and Thai school styles. Instead of just wearing the traditional ao dai, the whole class decided to use the school uniform shirt, combined with the skirt and pants like the Thai school uniform. “We wanted to create a series of photos that were both simple and unique, but full of student character,” class member Bui Hoang Anh told Zing. Hoang Anh said the total cost to make the set of photos was 30 million VND, including the cost of hiring photographers and buying decorations. In addition to taking photos on campus, class 12A10 made another set of photos on the lawn. The members help each other do makeup, do hair, make use of everyday items such as books, brush, etc., thus saving part of the cost. “The week of preparing for the yearbook shooting, it was raining heavily, my class was all depressed because the rain was too heavy to take pictures. The whole class planned to change the schedule but couldn’t. Fortunately, the weather was favorable that day, the school yard was dry. , we easily completed the set of photos in just one day,” the class representative excitedly recounted. Wanting to save the best moments of student life, the whole class decided to “go with nature”, have fun together, chat while taking pictures. Familiar images such as corridors, classrooms, school yards, and even gymnasiums appear through photos of the class. Due to not being constrained in how to pose and express, the whole class quickly cooperated with the photography crew and kept up with the pace of work. Hoang Anh confided that the yearbook shooting day was also an opportunity for the whole class to talk and speak out their heart before graduation. The male student found that the photo session helped the whole class unite and understand each other. Many students who were normally quiet have become more inclusive and open-minded. “That day, almost everyone in my class cried, but thanks to those words, we understood each other better,” the male student recalled. After just one week, the yearbook of class 12A10, Luc Ngan No. 1 High School (Bac Giang) attracted more than 16,000 likes, 800 comments and more than 300 shares. Most netizens expressed their interest in the class’s natural and close-knit photos. “Shooting yearbook doesn’t need to go far, it doesn’t have to be fussy or fancy, as long as the whole class puts all their love into it, that’s the best thing,” commented one person.
