The whole house space is designed to be open, erasing the boundaries inside and outside.
Located in a suburban residential area of Hanoi, B House is the home owned by a concrete factory owner. The owner wants a cool space and garden view bedrooms but still ensures privacy and security. With this requirement, the group of architects used a simple yet powerful form of architectural design for the front garden. The nature of the house is open space, the boundary between the inside and the outside is gradually blurring to create the connection between people and nature. Light from outside is sucked from the roof through the glass windows into the green space inside. Around this void are long, wide staircases and corridors that connect functional spaces together. The front of the house is a system of pressed bamboo doors, which can be flexibly opened and closed. The bamboo door reduces direct sunlight from the east, and ensures privacy and security. With the homeowners’ love for concrete, the design team chooses the house finishing material, mainly concrete with a rough surface, chestnut-colored wood to make the space more cozy. Through the project, the design team wants to provide the optimal solution to improve living space, create a comfortable living environment, and focus on the quality of life.
