On April 13th, the reporter learned from the theme publicity activity of “Looking at China along the Expressway and Entering Yunnan” that the Sun River Nature Reserve, 31 kilometers away from the main urban area of Pu’er, is adjacent to the Kun-Man Expressway and is connected by the Sun River Province. It is composed of two parts of the National Forest Park and the Sun River National Forest Park. It preserves the largest and most concentrated contiguous monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest in the same latitude zone from the tropics to the south subtropics in the world. The forest coverage rate is as high as 98.8%. The diversity is extremely rich. There are more than 2,100 kinds of higher plants, 230 kinds of birds, and 240 kinds of orchids. It can be called “the world of orchids, the paradise of birds” and the most dazzling “green sea pearl”.

The place is close to Sixiao Expressway, and the closest distance to Sixiao Expressway is 3 kilometers. After the completion of the Sixiao Expressway, the Sun River Protected Area’s location advantages in transportation, economy, tourism and other aspects have become more prominent. In order to promote the protection and rational development of resources of the Sun River Protected Area, Pu’er City seized the “second entrepreneurship” of Yunnan tourism to promote transformation and upgrading The opportunity to start a new round of forest tourism development and construction.

As the first batch of 4A national scenic spots in Pu’er City, Pu’er National Park was officially opened in September 2013. Relying on a forest park of 216 square kilometers, it revolves around a high degree of integration with the natural environment, harmonious coexistence of humans and wild animals, and local culture. The inheritance and protection of the forest are the basis for development to create a one-stop forest tourism destination. Now it has been equipped with wetland surrounding restaurants, outdoor expansion facilities, forest farms, health care centers, meeting rooms, etc., and also planned and built different animal themed hotels. Among them, Pu’er Red Panda Manor was rated as a “must check-in hotel in Pu’er” by netizens “.

Since the establishment of the scenic spot, 22,000 hectares of virgin forests have been directly protected, and the area of returning farmland to forests in the surrounding areas has increased by 25%. While the forest is protected, animals have also obtained high-quality breeding habitats. Since 2011, Pu’er National Park has provided critical rescues for wild animals, including supplementation during food scarce seasons, treatment and release of sick and injured animals, and has helped more than 3,000 in total. Only wild animals.

Nowadays, on the basis of traditional tourism, Pu’er National Park is actively expanding the extension of tourism products, developing the “forest + leisure health and vacation industry cluster”, using forest + ecological health, international competitions, natural studies/study tours, car test driving, etc. The fields of health, sports, culture, and education are integrated and developed, and a sustainable development path of tourism that protects nature and benefits society is explored around forest tourism.
