Recently, we learned from relevant channels that the new generation of D-MAX was officially off the assembly line in Nanchang, Jiangxi. The new car has major changes in appearance, interior and configuration, and is expected to be officially launched on the “Ling Ju Day” on May 10.
In terms of appearance, the new generation of D-MAX has a more sporty style and a more fierce style. The large black center grille on the front face is matched with double-banner chrome trim. The shape of the headlights matches the LED daytime running lights. The “eyes” look sharp, and the fog light frame area is also fuller.
The sides of the body are fuller, with chrome door handles and side pedals. The shape of the tail is still square, but the new style of LED taillights enhances the visual effect. The new D-MAX also offers 7 paint colors to choose from, among which “Renis Black”, “Ayers Orange” and “Belize Blue” are the main colors of the new car.
In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the new car are 5265/1870/1850mm, wheelbase is 3125mm, and cargo compartment size is 1495/1530/490mm. From the data point of view, although the length of the new car has been reduced, its wheelbase has increased by 30mm. In addition, the approach angle of the car is 27.2°, the departure angle is 24.1°, and the minimum ground clearance is 245mm.
In the interior, the center console adopts a T-shaped design layout, the steering wheel adopts a new shape, the central control area is equipped with a 9-inch touch screen, and it has built-in Apple CarPlay/Baidu CarLife mobile phone interconnection, voice control and Internet of Vehicles functions. The air-conditioning panel is changed to a row of piano-style buttons and is equipped with a small display screen.
In terms of configuration, the new car has functions such as one-button start, 7-inch LCD instrumentation, dual-zone automatic air conditioning + rear exhaust vents, and electric power assistance. In addition, the new car will also be equipped with L2 automatic driving functions, including blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise and automatic parking.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with the RZ4E 1.9T Jinlan Power second-generation diesel engine with a maximum power of 166 horsepower (compared to the old model by 3 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 360 N·m. The transmission system is matched with 6MT and 6AT gearboxes. In terms of suspension, the front suspension is still a double wishbone type, while the rear suspension is set to three and five pieces according to the number of leaf springs of different models.
