The high-performance computing system is invested by Viettel and implemented artificial intelligence projects. Viettel Cyberspace Center (a member of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group) has officially operated the high-performance computing system at Viettel Data Center. This is a turning point that helps Viettel improve its computing capacity to build and operate more complex artificial intelligence models in a short time. The investment Viettel system has the leading computing performance in Vietnam, reaching 20 PetaFlops (20 million billion calculations per second), which reduces the time to train machine learning dozens of times. As a result, Viettel Cyber Center can simultaneously train many artificial intelligence models with high complexity. This system also trains continuous model improvement, shortening the time to improve the quality of artificial intelligence models. The supercomputer invested by Viettel uses computational acceleration technologies, switches and synchronous software, similar to the technology of supercomputers in the world’s top 500. Putting the system into operation marks a new development step for Viettel in realizing the Decision on promulgating the national strategy on research, development and application of artificial intelligence by 2030, issued by the Prime Minister. issued on January 26th. Viettel aims to play a key role in applying artificial intelligence in the military and defense sectors, as well as in the fields of data safety, cybersecurity, urban management, and social management. society and public administration, and areas of social life. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien, Deputy General Director of Viettel Group assessed: “Viettel is determined to invest in artificial intelligence, which is an important field to carry out its pioneering mission and key to creating a digital society. This investment will allow Viettel to unleash its creativity, attract leading experts in artificial intelligence, ready to take on the country’s big tasks in artificial intelligence.”
