When making music videos, singers often have sponsors for music projects. There are people who conceal the amount of investment, but there are also people “slashing prices” “shouting” over the amount done. That is also normal. Because it is a “buy and sell agreement”, they can agree with each other to “shout prices” to make the music video, song more luxurious, or simply to make the audience more interested in their products. But let us be smart consumers, choose to listen to real products with brainpower investment so that music can develop.
Many artists complain that when there are sponsors entering the MV, they often suffer from “invisible pressure” on the product, do you have it?
If someone is involved in our art work, it is those who specialize in music. There are not any other agencies that can participate in our work. The only thing of the bond is that they want the product to be successful. Due to the covid-19 translation, their businesses are also affected. If anyone sponsors their products, we respect them very much.
Currently many artists use the measure of Top trending on Youtube to prove their success, do you have such a concept?
I find this nonsense, we do art, but do not care about going to Top and that Top, the view can be virtual. We just want to dedicate, if making music, playing music makes the audience happy, sympathizing with us is success. That is what I aim for, not the amount of virtual views on social networks. In the long run, Vietnamese audiences will realize this, and in Western countries, there have been periods of music appreciation like this. But when there is a more civilized music practice, they don’t pay attention to Top trending anymore, they find authentic music products for them to watch. Virtual view is just a matter of the sidelines.

Where is your income mainly from?
I live by music. Although not much, but not too much. Last year, due to the epidemic, the artists were affected, many shows and programs canceled. We do more online. I myself am promoting digital music. If I sign with representatives who have good capabilities, they will bring their products away, go many places, my income will also be better.

Do you have a business to have money to cover your life?
A few years ago, I ran a Karaoke shop with a name Concentration Hanoi but could not follow, had to give up. Guests who come to sing at the restaurant always want to meet musician Nguyen Duc Cuong, but the shop is open until night, even near morning, so I cannot follow, I do not have the health to pamper guests like that. At that time, I still composed and guests wanted the “boss” to sit all night with them. I also do not hire people to do business because if I want to do business, I have to go deep, go close so I can not do it.
Many artists are in business and are very successful, but I’m not suited to business. I’m just passionate about making music. In music, I am myself. Like recently, I have collaborated with Rock band Ngu Cung to create a MV called To love. Is a gentle Rock song, suitable for many people.

Why did you and your crew put it up as Love MV? The name of this product is so simple, does it make the audience remember?
I compose this song based on the story of Tran Thang – The main composer of the band Ngu Cung. MV is a story about a man and a woman falling in love, going through so many waves but when they get old, they both smile when they see their full love for each other. I am originally a person who has a knack for composing pop songs, but the first time I combined with Ngu Cung, I found my liberal, strong personality in it. Love is a story of each person, every house, not anyone’s own. Maybe, I will also find myself in the past, present and future in the lyrics of this song.
Why did you associate with a rock band like Ngu Cung, was it risky when you only composed Pop music before?
We are music players, so we always want to create, explore. One of these is to combine with bands that are able to accompany them to produce new products. I find Ngu Cung very talented and suitable for me. With this new product, I see fresh colors, which is the trend I want to convey to my audience. I want to say: Mass audiences can still hear Rock, because we’ve softened the song.
Do you think that the return of Rock music will be welcomed by the audience after such a low time?
Rock is picky about listeners because there is more personality in music. People always prefer sweetness over thorns. I always want my association with the professional rock band, so that the thorniness will be less, so that the audience can listen to the Rock more. From the past until now, I have mainly followed Pop music, now I want to have a new creativity. Strange to create feelings for myself.

It is a bullshit rumor, and what I call “giants” is music. I always want to work in my studio, collaborate with singers and artists, not about money. Vu Hanh Nguyen and I are sincere together. That is the most important thing. I am quite a lover. So when we love Hanh Nguyen, we can control our emotions, making life easier.
After many years together, how do you keep the fire of love? When do we intend to get married?
At first, everyone is enthusiastic and passionate, but after a while, maybe the feelings will fade, this story all billion people on the planet have experienced. So what to do to not be boring each other? That is the love, when being together still means, wanting to give each other the best, not only the intimacy but the daily treatment with each other. Honestly, at first she was also jealous of me, later on it was better, no longer controlled and understood more.
Each person will have their own ways of keeping feelings for themselves. Personally, I take her to eat, go out to places that both of them like, or often remember holidays, celebrate and give her some small gifts. Just such a care made her very happy.
I proposed to her. We were planning to get married, but due to translation of Covid-19 and the Hanh Nguyen family, it was sad, so it was not able to organize it. Later this year, if things go well, I will marry her. If there is a funny story, I will announce it to the audience.
