A Chinese woman has broken her own record with an eyelash longer than 20cm. She believes her lush eyelashes are a gift from God, after she spent a year and a half in the mountains on a retreat.
Ms. You Jianxia. Photo: Daily Mail Ms. You Jianxia (from Changzhou City, China) set a Guinness record in 2016 when one of her eyelashes reached 12.5cm in length. After five years, Ms. Jianxia’s eyelashes have almost doubled, and one eyelash on her left eye has set a new record with a length of 20.5cm. With this length, Ms. Jianxia’s eyelashes have grown past her cheeks, even down to her jawline. Photo: Daily Mail “My lashes started growing in 2015, and they haven’t stopped growing since,” says Jianxia. “I went to medical professionals to find out why my eyelashes were longer than others. But the doctor couldn’t explain it. I also tried to learn about some genetic traits, genes. But no one in my family has long eyelashes like me,” said Ms. Jianxia. Ms. Jianxia’s eyelashes have been continuously growing since 2015. Photo: Daily Mail Despite her long and flowing eyelashes, Jianxia said her daily life has not been affected too much. They even help Ms. Jianxia save her makeup time. “I don’t need any eyeshadow or eyeliner. Since these are natural lashes, I wash my face very easily. Sometimes I break my eyelashes when I’m careless. But they grow longer.”
