Subtracting the cost, each year, the lemon garden brings about 300 million VND to the family. Previously, Ms. Loan’s family situation was very difficult. Although she has 7 labor land, she and her husband mainly work in farming, so the economy is not abundant. Later, she and her husband tried to plant some fruit trees, but all failed. In particular, in 2015, Loan’s jackfruit garden was flooded and the trees died so they had to be cut down. Ms. Loan said: “At that time, my family no longer had the capital to re-invest in the garden, did not know what plants to plant to match, the price was stable”. In 2016, Ms. Loan was introduced by the Women’s Union to visit the effective seedless lemon growing model of some members in the region, and received a loan of 50 million VND from the Association. Since then, she boldly planted lemons and achieved very excited results. In 2020, Ms. Loan’s family has built a spacious wall house worth nearly 800 million VND. Previously, the family of Mrs. Le Thi Hoa, a woman member in Thanh Loi area, belonged to poor households, due to a large number of children, while her family had only 2 horticultural workers with little income. She and her husband had to work as hired labor to make a living. For the past 5 years, she has been supported by a loan from the Women’s Union of the ward to change her garden to growing seedless lemons, from which her family economy has prospered. Ms. Hoa said: “On average, each year, from two jobs, my family has an income of more than 80 million dong. Up to now, my family has been considered to escape poverty ”. According to Ms. Tran Thi Y Nhu, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of the ward, the Association is always interested in supporting members to develop family economy. Specifically, in addition to creating favorable conditions for members to borrow capital for production, the Association actively builds many practical models, such as: small sales women group, seedless lemon plantation cooperative group, start-up model, starting a business, a plastic basket knitting model … At the same time, the Association also coordinated the campaign to build and repair 8 houses of compassionate shelters and solidarity houses for poor women. Since then, many women have stabilized their lives. A typical example is the case of Mrs. Le Hong Tham. In the past, Tham’s family belonged to a poor household. Because of little productive land, her husband was sick. The ward Women’s Union has supported her in many ways: considering the proposal to build the Solidarity house, supporting to borrow money to grow vegetables … In 2020, Tham’s family will be considered to escape poverty. In order to create conditions for women to increase their income, in the past 5 years, the Women’s Union of Thuong Thanh ward has opened 4 vocational training classes; introducing jobs to more than 400 turns of members and children of members. Ms. Phan Ngoc Anh, Thanh Phu area, shared: “I know how to cook and cook for the party. However, I am only accustomed to cooking some familiar and simple dishes with very few customers. In 2016, I took a cooking class organized by the ward Women’s Union to improve my skills. At the same time, I was also given a loan of 50 million VND to open a mobile cooking facility. Up to now, apart from me being the main kitchen, the facility also has 3 kitchen assistants and a number of seasonal staff. On average, the income of the kitchen assistant is 6 million VND / person / month. My income is about 20 million VND / month ”. In parallel with the implementation of the model to help members develop their economy, create jobs, reduce poverty, over the past 5 years, the Women’s Union of Thuong Thanh ward has mobilized socialization to support money and medical expenses for members. poor women; scholarship support for children of members in difficult circumstances, health insurance cards, Mid-Autumn gifts, Tet gifts … with a total value of more than 350 million. Through many practical support activities, in the past 5 years, the Association has helped 64 member households out of poverty. Ms. Tran Thi Y Nhu, Chairman of the Women’s Union of Thuong Thanh ward, affirmed: “The ward Women’s Union will continue to improve quality and replicate the model to support its members to do business, create jobs, start businesses .. . to help women stabilize their lives, build a happy, prosperous, and equal family… ”.
